Alexandre Benois and Eugene Lanсeray, uncle and nephew: friends and artistic associates

The article is devoted to the history of friendship and cooperation between Alexandre Benois (1870–1960) his elder nephew Eugene Lanceray (1875–1946). Being like-minded, they explored St Petersburg, its suburbs France. Since 1898, were participating at group exhibitions magazine book projects. In 1900s, worked on design theatrical performances, created interior dining room for exhibition “Contemporary art” (1903). They helping each other commissioned artworks. 1915–1916, developed monumental panels Kazansky railway station in Moscow. Their last meeting took place France 1927, but correspondence continued until 1946 (many fragments their never published before).
